Get To Know Us

Welcome to our story, our names are Kayla and Nicola. 

By 2022, after years of working in Early Education, we found ourselves drained by the routine of a Monday-to-Friday job. Kayla, in particular, was frustrated by the lack of cute, neutral, and affordable clothing for her son, Acre.

We began to question the stereotype of a life spent working for someone else and wondered how we could blend our love for the coastlines and the world around us into something meaningful. This sparked the idea of creating a children's clothing label, and all we needed was the perfect name.

Both of us LOVE summer. We spend our summers by the water, constantly exploring new beaches and discovering hidden gems along the Australian coastlines. Growing up in Newcastle, NSW, the coast has always been a significant part of our lives. Kayla suggested the name Coastal Wanderers, and it resonated perfectly with our vision.

Our mission is to empower the next generation, one child at a time, to stand up for what they believe in and to embrace their individuality. This is why our motto, "Make Waves," is central to everything we do. We understand that our clothing alone may not change the world, but we hope that the children who wear it will.

It seemed everyone loved Coastal Wanderers and were now suggesting we delve into sizes that the entire family could wear. And so, here we are, expanding our line to ensure that every family member can join in making waves and embracing the coastal lifestyle we cherish so much.

We aim for our clothing and lifestyle to ignite conversations that inspire, educate, or empower even just one individual to make a change and find happiness. 

Coastal Wanderers is not just a business for us; it's our life mission, deeply rooted in our love for the coast, beaches, sun, and sand.
